A chef, Designer, Teacher &

 now a Peace Embassder

Chef Asad Latif is a person whose known as a celebrity chef of Metro1 TV  channel. But very few people know that he's also a qualified textile designer, he had a 10 years experience of teaching in an art college. Then he switched his career from designing to culinary art & became a qualified chef too. Nowadays he is running his own restaurant "Urban Tarka". I know not only him but also know  his family as well. He's a father of two beautiful kids a 11 yrs old son & a 9 yrs old daughter. His wife is pretty soft spoken lady a best mom & perfect house wife.
When I joined "International Cities of Peace"ICP" & established my city of peace, the first name of a celebrity came into my mind was Chef Asad Latif " as a Peace Embassder of my city of peace. Because I know him as a person who is truly believe in reducing aggression & spreading peace. Here is chef Asad Latif's views about peace building.
In reply of a question about the causes of increasing rate of aggression in our society in general & in our youth in particular. Chef Asad said, " im running my restaurant with 65 employees with different backgrounds, different sects, religions & they all work in a very peaceful & friendly environment. Sometimes they came up to me with minor conflicting issues I always try to resolve such issues by counselling. As a result of counselling i found that the reason behind such tension and aggression is lack of tolerance. Like during work they make fun of each other or some sort of practical joke whic creates a conflicting situation. Because nowadays we don't have tolerance in our nature, we all have became so aggressive. He further said, " the reason of growing agression is expenses are more than earnings. So that makes us restless & more aggressive.
He shared his teaching experience and said,"when I was a teacher in a fine arts & textile designing college. I always tried to build a friendly relation with my students but with a boundary line of respect between teacher & students. As far as aggressiveness in students is concern , today's student is more aggressive than in the past years. If we want to build a culture of peace, we have to engage our youth in peace building activities. It's our responsibility to start from our homes, educate our children about the importance of tolerance and it depends on how do we treat our children. They learn from behaviour more than words. Empower your children with positive freedom of speech so they could express their views and communicate with them. Give them quality time instead of expensive gadgets.

In the end chef Asad shared his future plans as a Peace Embassder, " I would like to be a part of peace building in our society, by participating in different peace projects".

In his message , he said "we all have anger inside us but the best way to eliminate anger is always try to with a smile on your face. If someone passes bad comments about you at that moment just keep in your mind that these are just words and can't harm me physically so ignore that person. Always try to keep your mind cool & calm. Reply anger with smile,  never reply anger with anger.
